Sibisi Shares His Views on Pirates Youngster Padime

Orlando Pirates could be the latest South African club to have their domestic fixtures adjusted as the Premier Soccer League (PSL) considers scheduling challenges involving teams competing in CAF inter-club tournaments.

The Buccaneers are preparing for their CAF Champions League campaign, while Kaizer Chiefs are also facing a busy period as they get ready for their CAF Confederation Cup commitments. Both Soweto giants must find a way to manage their continental assignments alongside their Betway Premiership responsibilities.

Pirates were originally scheduled to face TS Galaxy in a league encounter on October 18. However, the match clashes with the dates allocated for the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round, which is scheduled to take place between October 16 and 18. The second-leg matches are expected to be played from October 23 to 25.

The Soweto-based outfit will face Namibian side African Stars as they attempt to secure a place in the Champions League group stages. Their participation in the continental competition could create further scheduling complications, particularly as they also look to remain competitive in the domestic league title race.

Despite the potential fixture clash, the final arrangements for the Pirates and TS Galaxy encounter have yet to be confirmed. Supporters are awaiting an official announcement from the PSL regarding whether the match will be postponed or moved to another date.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are dealing with similar scheduling concerns ahead of their Confederation Cup campaign. Amakhosi are set to meet Zambian outfit Red Arrows in the second preliminary round after receiving a bye in the opening stage.

Their domestic commitments also include a Betway Premiership meeting with Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium on October 17, adding to an already demanding schedule.

Pirates must also account for their MTN8 final against Mamelodi Sundowns on October 10, making October an especially busy month for the Buccaneers as they compete on multiple fronts.
