Why Tim Sukazi Says Kaizer Chiefs Put R2 From Every Packet Towards New Players

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger and current iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has praised young striker Wandile Duba following his standout role in Kaizer Chiefs’ 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy in the first round of the Carling Knockout Cup at FNB Stadium.

The 22-year-old forward delivered a brilliant second-half performance, scoring all three goals to send Amakhosi safely through to the quarter-finals. The impressive hat-trick brought Duba’s goal tally to six across all competitions this season, cementing his reputation as one of the most dependable attacking options in the current squad.

Reflecting on the match during his analysis, Khanye commended Duba for his sharp finishing, relentless determination, and physical presence on the field. He noted that while Duba may not be the most naturally skillful striker in the league, his intelligent movement off the ball, physical strength, and keen instinct for capitalizing on opposition defensive mistakes make him a constant threat in the penalty area. Khanye pointed out that Duba plays with a high level of confidence and grit that works well on the pitch, though he suggested the young player needs to temper his intensity at times. The analyst also warned Duba to keep his post-goal celebrations grounded, cautioning that flashy displays can easily turn into public criticism whenever a striker goes through a dry spell without scoring.

The cup fixture also coincided with intriguing off-field comments from TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi regarding Kaizer Chiefs' financial structure. Sukazi publicly claimed that the Soweto giants help finance their transfer budget through sales of their official branded potato chips. He alleged that the club sets aside two Rand from every packet sold to fund player acquisitions, suggesting this retail revenue stream is why the team often prefers paying transfer fees in structured installments rather than lump sums.

Despite the colorful commentary off the pitch, the main narrative remains focused on Kaizer Chiefs' progress on the field. Khanye emphasized that if Duba can maintain his focus, handle the pressure, and deliver performances like this on a regular basis, he has the potential to establish himself as the main frontline striker for Kaizer Chiefs in the years ahead.
