Christos Tzolis injury update as Arsenal get boost for Premier League clash against Everton

According to a report by Football London on Friday October 23, 2026, Arsenal have received an encouraging update on Christos Tzolis as the winger moves closer to returning from injury, although he is expected to miss Saturday's Premier League encounter against Everton.

The Greece international has been unavailable since suffering a hamstring injury during his country's 2-2 Nations League draw against the Netherlands in Thessaloniki on October 1.

Tzolis has been working on his rehabilitation at Arsenal's Sobha Realty Training Centre, but he has yet to return to full team training. As a result, the Everton fixture has come too soon for the 24-year-old, who is continuing his recovery under the supervision of the club's medical staff.

Despite his absence, there is growing optimism that Tzolis could soon be available for selection as Arsenal prepare for a demanding run of fixtures across domestic and European competitions.

According to Football London, the winger could return to the matchday squad for Arsenal's Premier League trip to Liverpool on November 1. However, there remains an outside possibility that he could feature earlier against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, October 27, if he makes sufficient progress over the weekend.

Arsenal are expected to take a cautious approach to his recovery, particularly following the injury suffered by Bukayo Saka during Wednesday night's Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich.

Saka was forced off early in the first half after sustaining a quad injury, leaving manager Mikel Arteta waiting for further medical assessments to establish the severity of the problem.

The England international's absence could increase the importance of having Tzolis available, as Arsenal look to maintain their attacking threat during a busy period of the season.

However, the Gunners are unlikely to rush the Greek winger back before he is fully fit. Returning too early could risk aggravating his hamstring problem and extending his time on the sidelines.

In Tzolis' absence, Eberechi Eze could be handed another opportunity to impress when Arsenal face Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Eze has been in encouraging form, scoring twice in his last three appearances, and will be hoping to continue that run as Arteta looks for solutions to his team's injury problems.

The attacking midfielder's ability to carry the ball, create opportunities and find the net could prove valuable against Everton, particularly with Saka unavailable and Tzolis not yet ready to return.

Arsenal could also turn to young forward Max Dowman for the Carabao Cup encounter against Fleetwood.

Dowman has impressed with his performances and scored twice in Arsenal's 4-2 victory over Ipswich Town in the previous round of the competition. The teenager is pushing for more first-team opportunities and could benefit from the injuries affecting the club's attacking options.

A potential appearance against Fleetwood would provide another opportunity for Dowman to demonstrate his ability, although his involvement will ultimately depend on Arteta's selection decisions.

While Arsenal continue to monitor their attacking options, the club have received positive news regarding defender Piero Hincapie.

The Ecuador international has returned to full team training and is available for Saturday's meeting with Everton after recovering from an ankle injury.

Hincapie sustained the problem during a post-match warm-down following Arsenal's 2-1 Premier League victory over Leeds United. He subsequently missed the Champions League trip to Bayern Munich but has now made sufficient progress to return to contention.

Arteta confirmed the defender's availability ahead of the Everton fixture, providing Arsenal with a timely boost at the back.
