According to a report by FootballTransfers, on Saturday October 24, 2026, Eintracht Frankfurt forward Can Uzun has been linked with Arsenal, but questions remain over whether the young attacker can meet the demands of a top Premier League side.
The 20-year-old made a strong start to last season, scoring in five consecutive Bundesliga matches. He has also begun the current campaign with four goals and three assists in six appearances, though most of those contributions came in two games: a German Cup rout of St. Tönis and a brace against Mainz.
Uzun’s promising form has not prevented him from facing criticism. After starting each of Eintracht’s opening matches under coach Adi Hütter, he was left on the bench for the full 90 minutes in a 1–0 win over Köln.
Hütter said the forward needs to understand his responsibilities within the team and deliver more consistently in training and matches.
“The sooner Can understands that football is also a team sport, the better his career will be,” Hütter said. “If he doesn’t, he could become his own worst enemy.”
The comments echo criticism previously made by former coach Albert Riera, who stressed that players must contribute both with and without the ball.
Uzun is most effective as a No. 10 or a supporting forward, but Hütter has also used him on the left wing. His positioning may have limited his attacking influence, while his defensive work remains an area of concern. For a player hoping to reach the highest level, improving his contribution off the ball will be crucial.
Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Uzun’s representatives. Frankfurt were said to value him at €60 million during the summer, when Galatasaray showed interest. A potential transfer in 2027 cannot be ruled out, particularly if his role at the German club remains uncertain.
However, any move to Arsenal would likely require Uzun to adapt to Mikel Arteta’s demanding style. His attacking talent is clear, but he will need to show greater consistency and commitment in both phases of the game.
