Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has explained the club's decision to carefully manage Oswin Appollis, describing the talented winger as a diamond whose qualities must be protected. The Moroccan tactician believes the attacker has enormous potential and remains confident that supporters will soon see him return to his best form.

Appollis has established himself as an important member of the Pirates squad since arriving at the club, impressing supporters with his creativity, pace and ability to trouble opposition defenders. His attacking contributions have made him one of the exciting players to watch, but managing his physical condition has become an important consideration for the technical team.

Ouaddou's description of Appollis as a diamond highlights the high regard in which the coaching staff holds the winger. The Pirates coach understands the importance of having the attacker available for crucial matches and does not want to expose him to unnecessary physical demands.

With Orlando Pirates competing across domestic and continental competitions, the demands on the squad continue to increase. The technical team must therefore find the right balance between giving important players sufficient playing time and ensuring they remain physically prepared for the challenges ahead.

Appollis offers Pirates an important attacking dimension through his ability to create scoring opportunities, take on defenders and provide attacking penetration in the final third. His presence gives the Buccaneers additional creativity, particularly when facing opponents who defend deep.

Although supporters would naturally prefer to see the winger featuring regularly, the club's approach suggests that his long-term contribution is more important than rushing his return to peak condition.

Ouaddou's confidence that Appollis will soon rediscover his best form will provide encouragement to the Pirates faithful. The expectation is that the winger can become an even bigger influence as the season progresses.

For the Buccaneers, protecting a player of Appollis' quality could prove important in their pursuit of silverware this season. Supporters will now be hoping to see the diamond shine again on the pitch.
