Striker Zakhele Lepasa is leaving Orlando Pirates.

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the exit of striker Zakhele Lepasa, who developed through the club’s youth academy. As the Buccaneers gear up for the 2025-26 season, Lepasa’s departure closes an important chapter for both the player and the team.

Zakhele Lepasa, a homegrown talent, made over 40 appearances for Orlando Pirates during his tenure. Despite his early promise, he spent considerable time on loan at clubs such as Stellenbosch, TS Galaxy, and SuperSport United, seeking more regular playing opportunities.

His absence from the team’s recent pre-season tour to Spain sparked speculation about his future, which the club has now confirmed with an official farewell message on social media. Orlando Pirates expressed appreciation for Lepasa’s contributions and wished him well as he moves on to new challenges.

Current reports indicate that Lepasa is likely to return to TS Galaxy, where he previously enjoyed a loan spell. At 28 years old, Lepasa also brings valuable experience from seven appearances with South Africa’s national team, Bafana Bafana.

The departure of Zakhele Lepasa signals a fresh start for the striker and a reshaping of the Orlando Pirates squad. Having risen through the club’s ranks and contributed on multiple fronts, Lepasa’s next chapter will be watched closely by supporters eager to see his continued growth in the game.
