According to a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Liam Delap expressed his satisfaction after scoring twice against Manchester City following a difficult spell in front of goal.

The striker said his team had been producing strong performances regularly but had struggled to convert their opportunities. Their display against City, however, allowed them to demonstrate a greater cutting edge in front of goal.

Delap explained that the team's attacking performances had not always been reflected in its scoring record. He believes the difference on this occasion was their ability to turn chances into goals.

"To be honest, we've been performing like that every week, just not putting them in the net," Delap said.

The forward added that the performance showed his team could be more clinical when opportunities came their way.

"But today we showed we can put them in the net!" he added.

His two goals against Manchester City marked a notable moment after his recent goal drought. The brace also provided a response to the difficulties he had experienced in finding the net.

Delap's comments reflected his belief that the team's overall performances had remained consistent despite the lack of goals.

He suggested that finishing chances had been the missing element rather than the quality of their performances.

Scoring twice against City offered evidence of the improvement he wanted to see in front of goal. It also gave the striker an opportunity to end his difficult run and contribute directly to his team's attacking output.

For Delap, the key message was that the team had maintained its performance level and finally translated that work into goals.
