According to a report by Metro on Sunday November 1, 2026, Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini has sent a warning to Manchester United ahead of their meeting on Tuesday after his side made a record-breaking start to the Serie A season.
Roma continued their impressive run with a 5-2 victory over Udinese on Saturday, extending their unbeaten start to 10 league matches.
The Italian side have scored 28 goals in their opening 10 Serie A fixtures, the highest number they have ever recorded at this stage of a season.
Gasperini's men will now travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, who are struggling for results under manager Michael Carrick.
Former Aston Villa forward Donyell Malen has been Roma's standout performer, scoring eight goals in Serie A and 11 across all competitions in 12 appearances this season.
However, Gasperini believes his team's success is down to contributions from across the squad rather than relying on one player.
"Sometimes the numbers do tell you the story," the Roma manager said after the victory over Udinese. "Besides scoring lots of goals, we're also scoring with many different players."
Teenager Rodrigo Mora and defender Daniele Ghilardi were also among the goalscorers against Udinese, highlighting Roma's attacking depth.
Gasperini also praised the attitude of his players, particularly the younger members of his squad, who are eager to establish themselves and improve.
"I'm lucky to have all my players – even the not-so-young ones – who really listen to me," he added. "I'm lucky because we have a great mix of players. We may have other shortcomings but they all give me everything."
Roma's confidence contrasts sharply with the situation at Manchester United, who suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
The result extended United's winless run to nine matches and left Carrick's side 17th in the Premier League table. They have also collected just three points from their first three Champions League matches.
The dismissal of Lisandro Martinez against Chelsea has added to United's concerns ahead of the encounter, while Carrick faces growing pressure to turn the team's fortunes around.
Roma will therefore head to Old Trafford believing they can take advantage of United's struggles, with Malen and their other attacking players posing a significant threat.
Gasperini's side will be hoping to maintain their impressive form, while Manchester United desperately need a positive result to ease the pressure on their manager.
