Stephen Warnock spots incredibly worrying detail seconds after Lisandro Martinez red card vs Chelsea

Stephen Warnock has spotted a particularly concerning moment following Lisandro Martinez's red card against Chelsea and Man United fans won't be happy to see.

Manchester United suffered yet another damaging defeat on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Although Morgan Rogers opened the scoring in the 50th minute, many believe the turning point in the match was when Martinez was shown a red card shortly after the hour mark, and Warnock believes the repercussions of the moment may be worse than we first thought.

Match of the Day reveals concerning detail of Lisandro Martinez red card in Man United v Chelsea

Following Rogers opening goal, Martinez was later booked for pulling back the Chelsea star as frustrations amongst the Man United team clearly started to grow as they faced yet another loss.

Shortly afterwards, the United defender received a second booking after VAR intervened having spotted him catching Chelsea's Wesley Fofana in the face when jumping with his arm raised while defending a corner.

Referee Peter Bankes awarded Chelsea a penalty and showed Martínez a second yellow card for the incident, with Cole Palmer scoring the penalty to take the scoreline to 2-0 and essentially killing off the match.

But it wasn't the red card or the penalty that Warnock pointed out as a particularly concerning detail of the match, as he instead noticed that as Martinez was sent off, it was only Amad that approached him to speak.

“He has let his teammates down. And interestingly, here you see the youngster, Amad. He’s the one who consoles him," Warnock highlighted on Match of the Day.

"No senior members of the Manchester United team going over to talk to him.”

United head coach Michael Carrick also did not acknowledge Martinez as he left the pitch to return to the away dressing room.

Although in isolation this wouldn't seem like much of a big deal, in United's current situation it further goes to show how fractured the dressing room is right now.

Alongside captain Bruno Fernandes, Martinez has been the most vocal player speaking out about the club's current situation, having slammed technical director Jason Wilcox and the club's hierarchy in an outspoken interview after losing to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

As it stands, United sit 17th in the Premier League table, with the 5-2 thrashing of Ipswich Town at Old Trafford on August 30 their only win in the top-flight this season.
