According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Arsenal claimed a narrow victory over Hull City at the Emirates Stadium, with captain Martin Odegaard scoring the decisive goal in the second half.
The Gunners controlled much of the contest but found it difficult to break down Hull’s defence. Declan Rice came close to opening the scoring before the interval with attempts from distance and a header, but goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis made important saves to keep the visitors in the game.
Arsenal also had a penalty appeal overturned following a VAR review after Kai Havertz went down inside the box. The forward was subsequently ruled offside.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 72nd minute when Noni Madueke forced Tzolakis into a save inside the penalty area. Odegaard reacted quickly to the rebound and sent a low finish into the net.
Arsenal continued searching for another goal, but Madueke saw another effort blocked while Eberechi Eze also threatened towards the end. Hull struggled to create clear chances, allowing David Raya and the home defence to preserve their advantage.
The Gunners finished with 20 attempts, including nine on target, while Hull managed seven attempts and just two shots on target.

Both sides had opportunities to take the lead, but goalkeepers James Trafford and Antonin Kinsky produced several important interventions. Tottenham threatened through Mohammed Kudus and Omar Marmoush, while Leeds came close with efforts from Lukas Nmecha and Sean Longstaff.
The decisive moment came in the 79th minute after Kinsky produced an excellent save to deny Longstaff. Okafor, who had recently replaced Nmecha, reacted fastest to the rebound and finished from close range.
Tottenham attempted to find a late equaliser, but Trafford made another important save to deny Jan Paul van Hecke. Leeds remained organised during five minutes of stoppage time to secure the victory.
Nottingham Forest 3-1 Manchester City
Nottingham Forest produced an impressive performance to defeat Manchester City 3-1, with Cunha and Liam Delap among the goalscorers.
Forest made a fast start, taking the lead through Cunha in the sixth minute before Delap extended their advantage 12 minutes later. City’s defensive problems allowed the hosts to establish a two-goal cushion before half-time.
Manchester City struggled to respond during the opening period, although Erling Haaland and Enzo Fernandez had opportunities to get their side back into the contest.
The visitors improved after the restart, with Rayan Cherki pulling one back in the 52nd minute through an excellent strike into the top-left corner.
However, Forest restored their two-goal advantage in the 73rd minute when Delap completed an impressive individual move with a powerful finish.
