Premier League Table And Match Review After Saturday Fixtures As Man City's Drops More Points

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Manchester City endured another frustrating afternoon in the Premier League after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest. The disappointing result means City have now lost three consecutive league matches, dealing another major blow to their ambitions this season.

Nottingham Forest started the encounter with great determination and took the lead in the sixth minute. Cunha punished a defensive error from Manchester City before calmly guiding the ball past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to give the home side an early advantage.

Forest maintained their attacking intensity and increased their lead just 12 minutes later. Liam Delap showcased his individual quality inside the penalty area, producing an excellent finish underneath Donnarumma to make it 2-0.

Manchester City found it difficult to create meaningful attacking opportunities during the first half, despite having spells of possession. Their closest attempt came when Enzo Fernandez connected with a brilliant cross from Marc Guehi, but his header flew narrowly over the crossbar.

Erling Haaland was also unable to make a significant impact, as his attempt was blocked by the Forest defence inside the penalty area. Jeremy Doku equally failed to take advantage of another promising attacking situation after struggling to control a dangerous pass.

Following the interval, Enzo Maresca made changes to his team, introducing Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly in an attempt to improve City's performance. The adjustments brought more energy into their attacking play, and the visitors eventually found a way back into the contest.

In the 52nd minute, Rayan Cherki gave Manchester City renewed hope with a spectacular goal. The midfielder received possession outside the penalty area before firing a magnificent first-time effort into the top-left corner, leaving the goalkeeper with little chance of making a save.

City became increasingly dominant after reducing the deficit and continued searching for an equalising goal. However, Nottingham Forest remained a threat on the counterattack. Ryan Yates almost extended the hosts' advantage in the 68th minute, but his powerful attempt struck the post.

Forest eventually delivered another decisive blow in the 73rd minute through Delap. The forward produced another impressive individual effort, with his strike hitting the post before finding its way into the top-right corner of the net to make the score 3-1.

Manchester City attempted to respond during the remaining minutes but could not break through Forest's disciplined defensive organisation. The home side successfully protected their advantage until the final whistle, securing an important victory.

The defeat represents another setback for Maresca's team, who have now suffered three successive Premier League losses. Their latest result will undoubtedly increase the pressure on the manager as City look to recover from their disappointing run of form.
