Chelsea players have praised Romeo Lavia following his impressive performance in their 2-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
According to a report by Football London on Sunday, 1 November 2026, several Chelsea teammates took to Instagram to celebrate the Belgian midfielder after his influential display against Michael Carrick's side.
Lavia played a crucial role in Chelsea's victory, winning possession before setting up Morgan Rogers for the opening goal. He remained influential throughout the contest as Xabi Alonso's side secured an important three points.
The 22-year-old also completed the full 90 minutes, having featured for the entire duration of Chelsea's Carabao Cup encounter against Liverpool earlier in the week.
His ability to play consecutive full matches will be particularly encouraging for Alonso, considering the midfielder's persistent injury problems since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Lavia joined Chelsea from Southampton in a £53 million transfer in 2023 but has struggled to enjoy a consistent run of appearances.
Following Saturday's victory, Estevao Willian was among the first players to acknowledge his teammate's performance.
The Brazilian youngster responded to Lavia's Instagram post with the comment, "So good".
Moises Caicedo also joined the celebrations, describing the Belgian's performance as "World class".
Young defender Josh Acheampong equally praised the midfielder, writing "too good" underneath the post.
The reactions reflected the admiration within Chelsea's dressing room after Lavia delivered what could be one of his finest performances since joining the club.
His contribution was not limited to his involvement in Rogers' opening goal, as he also demonstrated considerable defensive quality and composure in possession.
According to statistics from Sofascore, Lavia recorded more defensive contributions than any other Chelsea player against Manchester United.
He also won four of the five tackles he attempted, highlighting his effectiveness in breaking up opposition attacks.
The midfielder's performance earned further recognition from Cole Palmer, who described him as "the best player on the pitch" after the match.
With Lavia now showing signs of maintaining his fitness, his growing influence could prove important to Chelsea as Alonso looks to strengthen his midfield options for the remainder of the season.
