EPL Table After Manchester United Lost 2-0 And Tottenham Hotspur Won 2-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the Premier League standings have experienced significant changes following Saturday's fixtures. Manchester United suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss against Chelsea, while Tottenham Hotspur secured an impressive 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace to strengthen their position on the league table.

Manchester United travelled to Stamford Bridge with the intention of picking up important points, but their hopes were frustrated by a determined Chelsea side. The Red Devils struggled to produce the performance required to get a positive result and eventually left London without scoring a goal.

The defeat represents another setback for Manchester United, who have been struggling to find consistency in the Premier League this season. Losing all three points also prevented them from making progress on the standings, leaving them dangerously close to the relegation places.

Chelsea, on the other hand, enjoyed an important victory in front of their supporters. The Blues collected three points from the encounter and maintained their efforts to secure a higher position in the Premier League standings.

Tottenham Hotspur also had reasons to celebrate after overcoming Crystal Palace 2-0. The North London club delivered a convincing performance to secure maximum points and move up to eighth position with 12 points from nine matches.

Elsewhere, Manchester City experienced a surprising disappointment after Brighton defeated them 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Despite dropping points, City remained at the top of the Premier League table with 21 points, although Arsenal have the opportunity to overtake them with a game in hand.

Brighton's victory moved them into third position with 19 points, while Chelsea occupied fourth place with 16 points. Brentford also made progress after defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0, a result that moved them into sixth position.

Bournemouth climbed to seventh place following their 2-0 victory over Leeds United, while Aston Villa and Fulham shared the points after playing out a 1-1 draw.

At the bottom of the standings, Manchester United dropped to 17th position with seven points from nine matches. Crystal Palace remained among the teams in the relegation zone following their defeat to Tottenham, while Nottingham Forest and Sunderland occupied the other two positions in the bottom three.

The latest results have increased the pressure on Manchester United, as the club must improve considerably in their upcoming fixtures to avoid getting dragged further into the relegation battle.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have an opportunity to move above Manchester City when they face Liverpool on Sunday. The outcome of that encounter could have an important impact on the Premier League title race.

With Manchester City and Arsenal currently level on 21 points, the competition at the top remains intense. However, Manchester United's situation is becoming increasingly worrying, as they are only three points above the relegation zone after nine matches.
