Morgan Rogers tells Tore Andre Flo why Joao Pedro always moans at him in Chelsea training

According to a report by The Chelsea Chronicle on Sunday, 1 November 2026, Morgan Rogers has revealed how Chelsea teammate Joao Pedro influenced his stunning goal during Saturday's 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

The England international explained that Pedro regularly encourages him to use chipped finishes during training sessions.

Rogers produced one of the standout moments of the match when he opened the scoring shortly after half-time, helping Chelsea return to winning ways after consecutive defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

The £117 million summer signing received the ball from Romeo Lavia before driving through Manchester United's defence.

He skipped past several opponents before calmly lifting the ball over goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The finish demonstrated Rogers' confidence and technical quality, with the midfielder continuing his impressive start to life at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Stadium Astro after the match, Rogers was interviewed by former Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo, who praised his composure and decision-making in front of goal.

Rogers revealed that Pedro's influence played a part in his decision to attempt the finish, explaining that the Brazilian regularly practises similar efforts during Chelsea training.

The midfielder has quickly established himself as an important attacking option under Xabi Alonso, registering six goals since joining Chelsea from Aston Villa.

His contribution against United was particularly important as the Blues looked to respond to their disappointing results in recent matches.

Rogers' early performances have also drawn comparisons with former Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, with his ability to beat defenders, create opportunities and score goals making him an exciting addition to Alonso's squad.

Meanwhile, Flo enjoyed a productive spell at Chelsea, making 163 appearances and contributing 50 goals and 10 assists during his time at the club.

Although Rogers still has a long way to go before matching those appearances, his impressive beginning suggests he could become a significant figure at Stamford Bridge.
