Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has continued to write his name into the club's history books after recording an impressive 27 victories in a calendar year, making him the coach with the most wins by a Pirates manager during the Premier Soccer League (PSL) era.

The Moroccan tactician has enjoyed an outstanding spell since taking charge of the Buccaneers, with his impressive record highlighting the remarkable transformation and consistency he has brought to the Soweto giants.

With 27 victories already recorded and more matches still to come, Ouaddou has established himself as one of the most successful coaches to lead Orlando Pirates in the PSL era in terms of calendar-year victories.

What makes the achievement even more impressive is that his success has not been built on victories alone. The coach has also maintained a relatively low number of defeats and draws, demonstrating the consistency and winning mentality he has introduced into the team.

Since arriving at the club, Ouaddou has shown that he understands the expectations that come with managing one of South Africa's biggest football institutions. Orlando Pirates supporters demand attractive football, trophies and consistent performances, and the Moroccan has delivered impressive results in these areas.

His first season in charge has been particularly remarkable, as he guided the Buccaneers to almost every available domestic trophy, with only one domestic competition remaining outside his collection.

The achievements have strengthened his relationship with sections of the Pirates faithful, who believe the coach deserves greater recognition for the work he has done since his appointment.

Although not everyone has been convinced by his methods, the statistics provide a strong argument in his favour. Breaking records, winning trophies and maintaining consistency are significant achievements for any coach, especially at a club where expectations are always high.

Ouaddou has also demonstrated his ability to build a competitive squad capable of challenging on multiple fronts. His tactical decisions, management of players and approach to important matches have contributed to Pirates' impressive performances.

For the Buccaneers, the hope is that this success will continue as the club targets more silverware in the coming competitions.

At 27 victories and counting, Abdeslam Ouaddou is giving Orlando Pirates supporters plenty of reasons to celebrate. If he maintains this level of performance, his place among the club's most successful modern-era coaches could become even stronger.

The numbers are impressive, the trophies are coming, and the Moroccan tactician appears determined to create an even bigger legacy at Orlando Pirates.
