Mabasa and Titus Left Frustrated as Maghreb Fes Fail to Find an Equaliser

South African attacking duo Devin Titus and Tshegofatso Mabasa endured a disappointing evening in Morocco after their club, Maghreb Fes, suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Wydad Sportive Témara in the Botola Pro on Sunday evening.

Both players were given an opportunity to help their team get a positive result, but neither managed to make a major impact as Maghreb Fes struggled to find a way past their opponents.

Titus started the match and played 76 minutes before being substituted. Mabasa also started the encounter but was taken off at half-time as the technical team made changes ahead of the second half. Unfortunately for the South African duo, their team could not recover from the early setback.

The result was disappointing for Maghreb Fes, especially considering the confidence they had gained from their recent success in the CAF Champions League qualifiers. The Moroccan side had secured a place in the group stages after defeating ASEC Mimosas 2-1 on aggregate.

That achievement had given the team something to celebrate, but their latest league performance showed that they still have work to do in the domestic competition.

Maghreb Fes have now gone three consecutive matches without recording a victory. Their latest defeat also affected their position on the league table, as they dropped to seventh place with eight points after six matches. They are now five points behind league leaders KACM.

Wydad Sportive Témara made a positive start to Sunday's match and managed to take the lead in the 13th minute. Zakaria Oulbenna found the back of the net to put his team ahead, giving Maghreb Fes an early challenge to overcome.

Despite having plenty of time to respond, Maghreb Fes were unable to find an equalising goal. Oulbenna's strike remained the only goal of the match and secured all three points for Témara, who moved up to fourth place on the standings.

For Titus and Mabasa, the focus will now be on improving their performances and helping their team return to winning ways. Both South Africans will be hoping to play an important role in the upcoming fixtures as Maghreb Fes look to stop their disappointing run.

Their next opportunity will come on Saturday, 7 November, when Maghreb Fes host Fath Union Sport in their next league match. The team will be determined to produce a better performance, collect three points and restore confidence among their supporters.
