Football analyst Lindo Pep has questioned whether Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou will remain in charge of Orlando Pirates until the end of the current season.
Pep expressed uncertainty over the coach’s long-term future, suggesting that the pressure and expectations associated with managing the Buccaneers could make it difficult for him to complete the campaign.
Speaking about Ouaddou’s position, the analyst said he would be surprised if the Moroccan tactician remained at the club throughout the season.
“I’d be surprised if Ouaddou finishes the season,” Pep stated.
His remarks have sparked discussion among Orlando Pirates supporters, with attention turning to the coach’s performances, tactical decisions and ability to meet the club’s expectations.
Ouaddou took charge of the Soweto giants with the responsibility of maintaining their competitive standards and pursuing success across domestic competitions. However, managing a high-profile club such as Pirates comes with considerable scrutiny, as supporters expect consistent performances and positive results.
As the campaign progresses, the coach will be under pressure to demonstrate consistency and guide the team towards its ambitions. The demands of competing on multiple fronts could also test the technical team's ability to manage the squad effectively.
However, Pep’s comments remain his personal assessment and should not be interpreted as confirmation that Orlando Pirates are planning to dismiss their coach.
Unless the club announces a change, Ouaddou remains in charge and is expected to continue leading the team.
The coming months will provide a clearer picture of how his tenure develops, while Pep’s prediction has added to the conversation surrounding the Moroccan coach’s future at Orlando Pirates.
