SAD NEWS: Former Betway Premiership Giants Face Total Collapse After Another Disaster

ORBIT COLLEGE IN RELEGATION DANGER AS WINLESS RUN CONTINUES AFTER NINE MATCHES

SOUTH AFRICAN FOOTBALL NEWS | 1 NOVEMBER 2026

Orbit College are experiencing a difficult start to their 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign, with the club currently occupying a relegation position after nine matches.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based side have struggled to find their rhythm since returning to South Africa's second tier, and their latest results have increased concerns among supporters about the direction of their season.

Orbit College are yet to record a single league victory, having managed just four draws and suffered five defeats in their opening nine fixtures. Their return of four points leaves them 15th on the 16-team standings, level on points with bottom-placed Venda but ahead on goal difference.

Their latest encounter offered another opportunity to change their fortunes, but Orbit College were unable to make home advantage count against Venda on Friday, 30 October. The two sides played out a goalless draw, leaving both teams still searching for their first league victory of the campaign.

The statistics paint a worrying picture for Orbit College. They have scored only four goals in nine matches while conceding 10, resulting in a negative goal difference of six.

Their disappointing run has included defeats against Leicesterford City, Lerumo Lions, Hope FC, Upington City and Cape Town City. Draws against Hungry Lions, Pretoria University, Highbury and Venda have provided some points, but the lack of victories remains a major concern.

The situation is particularly significant considering that Orbit College competed in the Betway Premiership last season. Their current struggles demonstrate how challenging the battle for consistency can be following a return to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

However, the campaign is far from over. With 21 matches remaining, Orbit College still have sufficient opportunities to improve their position and move away from the relegation zone.

Their next assignment will be against Magesi FC on 7 November. The fixture presents a difficult challenge, with Magesi among the leading teams in the division.

For Orbit College, the message is becoming increasingly clear: improvements must come quickly.

Supporters will be hoping the technical team can find solutions to their attacking difficulties and restore confidence within the squad.

The coming fixtures could prove decisive in determining whether Orbit College can rescue their campaign before the relegation battle becomes even more difficult.
