Kaizer Chiefs and their supporters have received a significant vote of confidence from Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who maintains that his team's fierce rivals are still very much in the running for the Betway Premiership title. After his team's valiant 2-1 victory in the Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium, Ouaddou delivered the uplifting comments.

The outcome put Pirates just one point behind Mamelodi Sundowns, the leaders, at 25 points. Ouaddou is certain that the Chiefs' 12-point deficit is not insurmountable despite their fifth-place ranking. "Observing the game from outside, I can tell you that the technical staff of Kaizer Chiefs are doing a great job," he remarked. "We have to give them time to put their game model into practice. The young players on the Kaizer Chiefs club are excellent. They're headed in the correct direction, in my opinion.

The French-Moroccan strategist refused to discount Amakhosi's prospects. "They don't have to be eliminated from the championship race. This technical team is performing admirably, and the club has a sizable fan base.

The Chiefs' elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup may also provide them newfound energy because they can now fully concentrate on the league without having to deal with fixture congestion or continental travel. Important matchups remain on their calendar, such as a rematch with Pirates on March 13, 2027, and a crucial matchup with Sundowns on February 6. Chiefs fans will appreciate Ouaddou's belief that the race is far from finished.
