Zwane Sends Strong Message to Radebe After Bafana Bafana Preliminary Squad Selection

AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has welcomed Nkosikhona Radebe’s inclusion in the Bafana Bafana preliminary squad, describing the recognition as a major boost for the young player's confidence while challenging him to reach an even higher level.

Radebe’s selection represents an important milestone in his development at AmaZulu, where he has been working to establish himself as one of the team's dependable performers. His consistent displays have caught the attention of the national team selectors, giving him an opportunity to push for a place in the final squad.

Speaking about the defender's inclusion, Zwane expressed his satisfaction with the recognition, highlighting the importance of rewarding players who continue to work hard and deliver consistent performances for their clubs.

"For him to obviously get the call up, it's a plus. It's a very good motivation for the player. And actually, he's been one of our consistent players. But I still believe he can give us more," Zwane said.

The AmaZulu coach's comments reflect his belief that Radebe has the quality to develop into an even more influential player. While acknowledging the progress he has made, Zwane is clearly determined to ensure that the defender does not become comfortable with his current level of performance.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed an encouraging campaign, with his performances at right wing-back making him one of the standout players in the AmaZulu setup. His attacking contribution has also been impressive, having registered five assists in nine league matches this season, underlining his growing importance to the team.

Radebe's inclusion comes at an important time for Bafana Bafana, who are preparing for their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Kenya. He has been named among the right-back options in the 38-man preliminary squad, alongside Thapelo Morena and Thabang Matuludi.

With competition for places in the final squad expected to be intense, the AmaZulu defender will have an opportunity to demonstrate that he deserves a place among South Africa's best players.

Zwane has made it clear that he will continue pushing Radebe to improve rather than allowing him to become satisfied with his achievements.

The coach believes the defender has the talent and potential to compete at the highest level, but understands that maintaining consistency and working harder will be essential to his long-term progress.

For now, the focus will be on making the most of this opportunity and potentially turning his preliminary selection into a place in the final Bafana Bafana squad.

Radebe has earned recognition for his performances, but Zwane's message is clear: the national team opportunity should be the beginning of an even bigger journey, not the final destination.
