South Africa U15 Team Thrash Anguilla 13-1 as Two Players Score Hat-Tricks at FIFA World Cup

South Africa's under-15 national team delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival, achieving a remarkable 13-1 victory over Anguilla in their third group match held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Sunday.

The young South African players showcased an exceptional attacking display, scoring an astounding 13 goals in a single match. This victory was a strong comeback for the team, allowing them to exhibit their talents on an international platform.

Several players made significant contributions to this memorable win, with Tshiamo Mashishi and Camden Schaper particularly standing out as they each scored three goals, making them the top scorers in South Africa's commanding performance.

Mashishi showcased his offensive skills with a hat-trick, while Schaper also enjoyed a fantastic game. Their efforts kept up the pressure on Anguilla throughout the match.

Lesedi Hlalele and Katlego Mokhabuki also played key roles, each netting two goals, which further bolstered South Africa’s impressive total and highlighted the team's attacking prowess.

Completing the scoring for South Africa were Neo Dhlamini, Bohlale Finger, and Keanu Moses, each contributing one goal.

Anguilla did manage to score a consolation goal, but it was insufficient to avert a heavy defeat against a determined South African squad that sought to get back on track.

The 13-1 score not only underscores the young South Africans' aptitude for creating and converting scoring chances but also serves as a significant confidence boost as they advance in the inaugural FIFA U15 Boys World Cup and Festival.

This tournament provides young athletes the chance to represent their nations, gain international exposure, and hone their skills against teams from various regions.

For South Africa, the victory was more than just a striking scoreline. It allowed the players to respond positively after a prior group-stage loss, demonstrating their competitive spirit.

The coaching staff is hopeful that the team will build on this performance and continue improving in other areas. While scoring 13 goals is a remarkable feat, consistency will be crucial as the tournament continues.

South Africa's convincing win has given the young players much to celebrate, with Mashishi and Schaper receiving special acknowledgment for their hat-tricks.

Looking ahead, the young athletes aim to maintain this momentum as they continue to represent their country on the international stage.
