According to a report by BBC SPORT on Saturday October 31, 2026, Barcelona crushed Alaves 6-1 at the Spotify Camp Nou, with Lamine Yamal shining as the game's most impressive performer.
With the help of the young forward's two goals and an assist, Hansi Flick's team cruised to a resounding victory after controlling the game for long stretches.
Right from the start, Yamal had an impact thanks to his inventive dribbling, movement, and attacking that troubled the Alaves defense. In the 23rd minute, he was instrumental in the second goal scored by Barcelona.
Fermin Lopez controlled the opportunity and fired into the top left corner after receiving an outstanding long pass from the winger into the penalty area.
The 19-year-old's goal-scoring prowess and ability to evade defenders in the penalty area persisted in causing the away team problems. He came close in the 35th minute with a low shot, but Antonio Sivera made a fantastic save. Additionally, he set up Raphinha, who had a strong attempt that just missed the crossbar.
Before halftime, Yamal finally found the back of the net. In the 45th minute, he received a pass from Joao Cancelo and shot superbly from long range, finding the bottom right corner of the net. Just before halftime, he scored to make it 4-0 for Barcelona.
Soon after the restart, the Spanish international continued his outstanding performance. He kept posing a threat to the other team's defense and nearly scored again in the 49th minute on another spectacular solo run.
In the 64th minute, after he had persisted for a while, he scored again from inside the penalty area. By the 66th minute, the goal had been reviewed and confirmed by VAR.
After assisting on two goals and adding another in the 74th minute, Yamal was replaced. Alaves got a consolation goal from Mariano Diaz, and Barcelona got their sixth goal from Anthony Gordon.
He was Barcelona's best player in the lopsided win thanks to his goal-scoring, creative, and attacking contributions.
