Premier League Table After Tottenham Won 2-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Tottenham produced an impressive performance to overcome Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Premier League, taking full advantage of their numerical superiority after Jean-Philippe Mateta received a first-half red card.

Crystal Palace initially looked dangerous and nearly opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Daichi Kamada forced Antonin Kinsky into action. The Tottenham goalkeeper demonstrated excellent reflexes to make an important save and keep the score level.

However, the visitors' chances of securing a positive result suffered a major setback when Mateta was dismissed. The striker was initially booked for a sliding tackle, but referee Michael Oliver upgraded the yellow card to a straight red following a VAR intervention.

Tottenham wasted little time exploiting their numerical advantage, taking the lead in the 25th minute. Kudus whipped in an inviting corner, allowing Archie Gray to rise above the Palace defenders and guide a powerful header beyond Henderson.

The hosts continued to control possession but were unable to increase their advantage before half-time. Palace defended resolutely despite being a man down, while Henderson made several crucial interventions to keep Tottenham at bay.

Tottenham returned for the second half with greater attacking intent, putting the visitors under sustained pressure. Tel, Solanke and Marmoush all threatened to find the net, but Henderson remained determined to prevent another goal. Palace also benefited from a goal-line clearance that denied Tel from close range.

Robertson subsequently tested Henderson with another effort, but the goalkeeper produced an impressive stop. Tottenham eventually found their second goal in the 73rd minute, with van Hecke heading the ball into the bottom-right corner.

The goal gave Tottenham greater control of the contest, leaving Crystal Palace with an increasingly difficult task. The visitors struggled to create meaningful attacking opportunities as the hosts continued to threaten.

Kudus thought he had another opportunity to add to the scoreline, but his effort was ruled out for offside. Henderson also made an excellent save to deny Kulusevski, while Porro narrowly missed the target.

Tottenham maintained their advantage until the final whistle, completing a convincing 2-0 victory and collecting three valuable Premier League points.
