Confirmed World Cup Final Fixture After Nigeria Defeated South American Giant 3-1

According to a report by ESPN on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Nigeria's Flamingos will face Japan in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after both countries secured victories in their respective semi-final matches in Morocco.

The highly anticipated final is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, with kick-off fixed for 6:30 pm GMT, corresponding to 7:30 pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria booked their place in the championship match after producing an impressive 3-1 victory over Brazil. The Flamingos delivered a dominant second-half performance, with Queen Joseph breaking the deadlock in the 56th minute.

Awawu Bashiru then became the star of the encounter by scoring twice. Her first goal arrived in the 71st minute before she completed her brace in the 80th minute to give Nigeria a commanding 3-0 advantage. Brazil's Greise Kelly scored in the 89th minute, but Nigeria held on to complete a memorable victory.

Japan, meanwhile, secured their final ticket through a dramatic penalty shootout victory over defending champions DPR Korea. After falling behind in the 52nd minute, Japan equalised through a late own goal in the 90+5th minute before winning 4-1 on penalties. FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2026 +1

The final will therefore feature Nigeria and Japan, two teams that have overcome difficult challenges to reach the decisive stage of the tournament.

For the Flamingos, this is a historic opportunity to win their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup trophy. Nigeria previously finished third in 2022, but the current squad has now gone further by reaching the final for the first time.

Japan will also be determined to claim the championship after eliminating the defending champions.

Saturday's encounter will decide which country becomes the 2026 world champion, as Nigeria prepare for a historic battle against Japan.
