According to a report by TEAMtalk on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Manchester United remain optimistic about signing Leicester City youngster Louis Page after coming close to completing a deal for the midfielder during the summer transfer window.
However, the Red Devils are becoming increasingly worried about losing out on the teenager, whose impressive performances have attracted interest from several top European clubs. His reputation has continued to grow following his remarkable development.
United are keen to reignite their pursuit of the youngster, but the competition for his signature has become much stronger since their previous negotiations. Several prominent clubs are now keeping a close eye on him after his impressive displays this season.
Leicester are reportedly prepared to entertain offers for the 18-year-old during the January transfer window, provided two key conditions are met. The Championship club want Page to remain at the King Power Stadium on loan until the end of the season.
The Foxes are also seeking a transfer package worth around £15 million, although a substantial portion of the fee could be paid through future instalments. The initial payment is expected to be less than a third of the overall amount.
Page's current contract with Leicester runs until 2029, giving the club significant control over his future. Nevertheless, the increasing number of interested clubs could make negotiations more complicated for United.
Manchester City have joined the race for his signature, while Arsenal and Chelsea have also been monitoring his progress. Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford have reportedly made enquiries about the midfielder's availability.
Interest is also growing outside England, with Borussia Dortmund continuing to track Page after previously identifying him as a potential transfer target. The German side have built a reputation for developing talented young players.
TEAMtalk also reports that Real Madrid and Barcelona have been monitoring the Leicester youngster, creating another major challenge for United as some of Europe's biggest clubs assess emerging English talents.
For Manchester United, the situation could result in another frustrating transfer setback after they narrowly missed out on the midfielder during the summer. The growing list of interested clubs has made their pursuit considerably more difficult.
Although Leicester's willingness to negotiate provides encouragement, their financial demands and insistence on a loan-back arrangement remain major obstacles. United will need to move quickly and decisively if they hope to secure Page's signature before another club wins the race.
