According to a report by Barca Universal on Saturday October 24, 2026, Barcelona captain Raphinha and midfielder Rodri rallied their teammates after the club suffered a 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The senior players delivered important messages to the dressing room, urging the squad to learn from their mistakes ahead of Sunday's crucial El Clasico against Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou.

According to reports, Barcelona have maintained their confidence despite suffering their first defeat of the season. Raphinha addressed the players shortly after the disappointing result, encouraging them to examine their mistakes and take valuable lessons from the experience.

Rodri subsequently shared his thoughts with the squad. The Spanish midfielder emphasised that making mistakes early in the campaign provides an opportunity to improve before the season reaches its decisive stages.

The Ballon d'Or winner also highlighted the importance of maintaining concentration during major encounters. He explained that matches against elite opposition demand careful decision-making throughout the game, as individual errors can ultimately determine the outcome.

Barcelona's coaching staff and experienced players reportedly shared the same assessment of the PSG defeat. They believed poor decisions at crucial moments contributed significantly to the loss rather than indicating a deeper problem within the team.

The report also suggests that the dressing room remains united and confident about its ambitions. Barcelona believe correcting those mistakes will help them remain competitive across all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Rodri and Raphinha are expected to play important roles when Barcelona face Real Madrid on Sunday. Rodri began the PSG encounter on the bench as Hansi Flick managed his workload, but he is expected to return to the starting midfield for El Clasico.

His composure, control and experience could prove valuable against Madrid's attempts to disrupt Barcelona's rhythm. Raphinha will also be determined to respond positively after delivering an uncharacteristically disappointing performance in Paris.

The Brazilian captain has an opportunity to inspire his teammates through his performance. Sunday's El Clasico offers Barcelona a chance to recover from their European setback and demonstrate their determination in front of their home supporters.
