According to a report by Barca Universal on Sunday November 1, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United, insisting that he wants to remain at the Catalan club for as long as possible.
Manchester United have reportedly explored the possibility of signing the 23-year-old as part of their plans to strengthen their midfield.
However, Fermin has made it clear that he is not paying attention to the transfer rumours and hopes to spend the rest of his career at Barcelona.
Speaking after Barcelona's 6-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves on Saturday, the Spanish international said: “I don’t pay attention to this kind of news. I want to stay at Barcelona for as long as possible, and I hope to finish my career at this club.”
The midfielder also appeared to reaffirm his commitment through his goal celebration against Alaves, kissing the Barcelona badge and pointing towards it after finding the net.
Fermin enjoyed an excellent performance in the match, scoring once and providing two assists as Hansi Flick's side returned to winning ways.
His impressive contribution further highlighted his importance to the team, having established himself as one of Barcelona's key midfield options.
The La Masia graduate has enjoyed a remarkable rise after previously spending time on loan at a third-division club and coming close to leaving Barcelona permanently.
He has already registered six goals and five assists this season, demonstrating his ability to contribute consistently in the attacking third.
Barcelona also have little reason to consider selling the midfielder, who is under contract until 2031 and is regarded as an important part of the club's future.
With Fermin expressing his desire to remain at the Camp Nou, Manchester United could face a difficult task if they decide to pursue their reported interest in the Spanish international.
