According to a report by Barca Universal on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Barcelona forward Raphinha has equalled Lionel Messi’s impressive goalscoring achievement from the 2012/13 La Liga season after reaching 15 goals in the current campaign.
The Brazilian international reached the milestone during Barcelona’s encounter with Deportivo Alaves, where he scored twice in the first half to help his team establish a commanding advantage.
Raphinha’s achievement is particularly impressive considering the difficulties he experienced after returning from an injury sustained during the previous international break.
Although he had recovered sufficiently to return to action, the injury appeared to affect his physical condition and performances. However, his display against Alaves suggested that he is gradually returning to his best.
The 29-year-old started the encounter at Spotify Camp Nou and produced an excellent attacking performance, scoring twice before the interval as Barcelona raced into a 4-0 lead.
He also came close to completing a hat-trick but was withdrawn early as a precautionary measure. Barcelona’s coaching staff reportedly wanted to avoid placing unnecessary physical demands on him while he continues to regain full fitness.
Beyond his contribution against Alaves, Raphinha also matched a remarkable record previously established by Messi.
During the 2012/13 La Liga campaign, the Argentine legend scored 15 goals in his first 11 league appearances for Barcelona, setting an impressive standard for attacking consistency.
Raphinha has now reached the same number of goals after 11 matchdays in the current season. However, the Brazilian has achieved the feat in just 10 appearances, having started nine league matches.
His outstanding performances have also taken him to the top of Europe’s Golden Boot standings, putting him ahead of several established goalscorers.
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe occupies second position with 11 goals, while Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has registered 10.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is further behind with nine goals, leaving Raphinha with a four-goal advantage over Mbappe.
With his confidence seemingly restored following his injury setback, the Barcelona forward will be determined to maintain his remarkable scoring form and strengthen his position in the race for the European Golden Boot.
