According to a report by The Chelsea Chronicle on Sunday, 1 November 2026, Jordan Henderson and Romeo Lavia have praised Moises Caicedo's quality, describing the Chelsea midfielder as one of the best players in his position following the team's 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
Both midfielders highlighted Caicedo's importance to Chelsea and his quality despite his relatively quiet performance against United.
Caicedo started alongside Lavia in midfield at Stamford Bridge, with Henderson missing the encounter because of illness.
Lavia was given an opportunity to start after spending time out of the starting XI and delivered an impressive performance alongside the Ecuadorian.
The Belgian midfielder was particularly influential, winning possession regularly, making important interceptions and providing the assist for Morgan Rogers' opening goal.
Henderson had previously spoken highly of Caicedo in Chelsea's matchday programme, praising his ability and the partnership they have developed in midfield.
He said: "He’s a world-class midfielder, probably one of the best in the world in his position."
Lavia also shared his admiration for the 24-year-old, highlighting their understanding and relationship on the pitch.
Speaking to Chelsea's media after the victory, he said: "He knows me, and I know him; it’s difficult to explain. But Moi is a world-class player, and I’m very happy to be playing alongside him."
Although Caicedo produced a solid performance against Manchester United, Lavia attracted more attention with his impressive display.
The Belgian recorded 23 defensive contributions and won several important challenges, while also helping Chelsea control the midfield battle.
Caicedo, meanwhile, completed 95 per cent of his passes and won six of his 10 duels. However, he managed only four defensive contributions and covered 9.5 kilometres during the match.
His performance was rated 7.2 by FotMob, placing him ninth among Chelsea's starting players.
Nevertheless, Caicedo remains an important figure in Alonso's midfield plans. His combination of defensive strength, passing ability and positional awareness makes him a valuable partner for both Henderson and Lavia.
