According to a report by Flashscore on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Manchester City were handed a frustrating 3-1 defeat by Nottingham Forest after producing a below-par display, with several players failing to perform to the expected standard.
Forest raced into a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Cunha and Liam Delap. Although Rayan Cherki brought City back into the contest with a goal in the 52nd minute, Delap struck again in the 73rd minute to complete his brace and secure all three points for the home side.
Despite City's attempts to fight back, four players particularly struggled to make a positive impression during the encounter.
1. Marc Guehi
Marc Guehi was among Manchester City's disappointing performers after struggling to help his team cope with Nottingham Forest's attacking movements.
The defender was part of a defensive setup that conceded two goals in the opening 18 minutes. Forest opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Cunha punished a costly defensive mistake before Delap produced an impressive individual effort to make it 2-0.
Guehi's first-half performance failed to convince, prompting the coaching staff to withdraw him at half-time and introduce Matheus Nunes in his place.
2. Jeremy Doku
Jeremy Doku had a difficult game and was unable to provide the attacking threat Manchester City needed to break down Nottingham Forest.
The Belgian winger wasted an early opportunity in the eighth minute when his attempt inside the penalty area was blocked by a Forest defender. Six minutes later, he also failed to deliver an accurate pass into the box to find a teammate.
Doku experienced another frustrating moment in the 30th minute after receiving a well-weighted low pass that offered him an excellent opportunity to create danger. Unfortunately, his poor control allowed Forest's defenders to recover possession and clear the ball without difficulty.
3. Enzo Fernandez
Enzo Fernandez also struggled to influence proceedings and missed a valuable opportunity to help Manchester City get back into the game.
The midfielder had a chance to score in the 24th minute after receiving an inviting cross from Marc Guehi. However, his attempted header went just over the crossbar, wasting an opportunity to reduce Forest's advantage.
Furthermore, his corner kicks in the ninth and 42nd minutes failed to trouble the opposition, with Forest comfortably dealing with both deliveries.
Although Fernandez continued working hard in the second half, he could not produce the decisive contribution needed to change the outcome.
4. Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland endured an unusually quiet performance, failing to provide the attacking quality required to inspire Manchester City's comeback.
The striker came close to finding the net in the 41st minute after receiving a quality pass inside the penalty area. However, a Nottingham Forest defender made an important intervention by blocking his effort before it could reach the goal.
Despite having a promising opportunity, Haaland struggled to influence the match and found it difficult to overcome Forest's defensive organisation. His inability to make a significant impact contributed to City's disappointing afternoon.
