According to a report by BBC Sport on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all secured important victories in their UEFA Champions League matches, defeating Aston Villa, AS Roma and Villarreal respectively.
Barcelona produced an impressive performance to beat Aston Villa 3-0 at home, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha playing key roles. The Spanish side opened the scoring in the seventh minute after a defensive mistake allowed Yamal to take possession and calmly finish from close range.
Aston Villa tried to respond but struggled to cope with Barcelona's attacking pressure. The hosts continued to control possession and create chances, while goalkeeper Joan Garcia made an important save in the first half to deny Johan Manzambi an equaliser.
Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 52nd minute when Raphinha's effort from outside the penalty area took a deflection and went past the goalkeeper. The Brazilian winger completed his brace in the 64th minute, finishing Joao Cancelo's delivery into the bottom corner. Villa also came close when Leon Goretzka struck the post with a header, but they failed to find a goal.
Meanwhile, Manchester United produced a remarkable comeback to defeat AS Roma 3-2 after going two goals behind in the opening 17 minutes.
Matias Soule gave Roma the lead in the 11th minute before Donyell Malen converted a penalty six minutes later following a handball decision against Ayden Heaven.
United returned with a stronger performance after the break, and Bruno Fernandes reduced the deficit in the 58th minute by converting a retaken penalty. Matheus Cunha then brought the hosts level in the 83rd minute after connecting with Fernandes' cross.
Three minutes later, Cunha scored again, converting Shea Lacey's pass to complete United's comeback. However, the Brazilian forward was sent off after receiving a second yellow card during stoppage time, forcing United to defend their lead with ten players.
