Hansi Flick's team made a strong start to the encounter and maintained their attacking pressure throughout the match to secure all three points.
Barcelona took the lead in the seventh minute when Yamal capitalised on a defensive error from Aston Villa inside the penalty area. The young forward remained composed and calmly finished from close range to put the hosts ahead.
The Catalan side continued to threaten as the first half progressed. Anthony Gordon tested Zion Suzuki with a dangerous attempt in the 26th minute, but the Aston Villa goalkeeper produced an impressive save to prevent another goal. Joan Garcia also kept Barcelona ahead by denying Johan Manzambi after a promising attacking move.
Fermin Lopez nearly doubled Barcelona's advantage in the 41st minute, but Suzuki made another excellent save to stop his header from a corner. Both teams headed into the break with the hosts maintaining a narrow 1-0 lead.
Barcelona extended their advantage seven minutes after the restart when Fermin set up Raphinha. The Brazilian winger's effort from outside the penalty area took a deflection before finding the back of the net, leaving Suzuki unable to prevent the goal.

Aston Villa tried to fight their way back into the contest, but Barcelona remained disciplined at the back. Leon Goretzka came close to reducing the deficit in the 70th minute, but his header from a corner struck the right post.
Fermin also had another opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet, but Suzuki produced another fine save to deny him. Yamal continued to threaten in the closing stages, although the goalkeeper prevented the teenager from adding to his tally.
Barcelona eventually secured a deserved 3-0 victory, with Yamal's early goal and Raphinha's second-half brace sealing an impressive result for Flick's side.
