According to a report by Metro on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah has addressed speculation linking him with Arsenal and Chelsea, insisting that his priority is to continue improving and help his current club achieve success this season.
The England international has attracted interest from several European clubs following his impressive performances in Germany since joining Leverkusen from Liverpool in a £30 million transfer in July 2025.
Reports in Germany suggest that Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid are monitoring the 23-year-old’s situation. Arsenal have reportedly already seen a €65 million (£55.5 million) bid rejected by Leverkusen last month.
However, Quansah has insisted that the transfer rumours will not distract him from his responsibilities at the German club.
Asked whether the speculation had provided him with additional motivation, the defender told reporters: “I only have to focus on playing the season, playing as many games as I can and trying to improve. That’s all I can do.
“I’m just trying to stay levelheaded and keep pushing.”
Quansah has established himself as an important member of the Leverkusen squad, making 49 appearances across all competitions since his arrival. His versatility, which allows him to play both centre-back and right-back, has also increased his value to the Bundesliga side.
The defender has regularly featured at right-back this season and believes the experience is helping him develop his game further. He also admitted that he is happy as long as he continues to receive regular playing time.
Meanwhile, Liverpool reportedly have a buy-back option that could allow them to re-sign their former defender in June 2027.
