According to a report by Football London on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Arsenal have reportedly made initial approaches for Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Can Uzun and Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi as sporting director Andrea Berta explores potential signings for Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners reshaped their left-wing options during the summer, selling Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard for a combined £77 million before bringing in Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million.
Although Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze can play on the left wing, both are considered more effective in other positions, prompting Arteta to consider signing another winger capable of competing with Tzolis for a starting place.
Arsenal previously attempted to sign Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior but failed to secure either player, forcing the club to explore alternative targets ahead of future transfer windows.
According to CaughtOffside, Uzun has emerged as a potential option after impressing for Frankfurt this season. The Turkish international has scored four goals and provided three assists in six appearances.
His performances have reportedly attracted Arsenal’s interest, with the North London club among several Premier League sides considering a move for him next year.
Reports suggest Arsenal have contacted his representatives, agency 11WINS, while also exploring the possibility of signing Tresoldi, who is represented by the same organisation.
However, Arsenal face competition from Aston Villa, Everton, Brighton, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund for the 20-year-old’s signature.
Uzun was reportedly available for around £34 million during the summer, but Frankfurt are now expected to demand his £50 million release clause for a potential transfer in 2027.
A source familiar with the situation stated: “Arsenal have had some initial contacts about Can Uzun. I can’t say for sure if he’s at the top of their list, but they like him and they’re not alone in that.”
The source added that Frankfurt are aware of the interest and will direct potential suitors towards the player’s €60 million release clause.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also considering a move for Tresoldi, who has scored nine goals in 13 appearances for Club Brugge this season.
The Belgian club rejected Roma’s £30 million offer in August and reportedly value the Germany Under-21 international at £42 million.
Club Brugge are understood to have no intention of selling Tresoldi in January, potentially forcing Arsenal to delay their pursuit until next summer.
A £42 million transfer would make Tresoldi the most expensive departure in Belgian club football, surpassing Tzolis’ £34 million move to Arsenal.
The proposed deals for Uzun and Tresoldi could cost Arsenal approximately £92 million as the club continues to assess its attacking options ahead of future transfer windows.
