According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, November 5, 2026, Barcelona youngster Orian Goren has earned his first call up to the Israel senior national team after making significant progress in his development at La Masia.

The 17 year old midfielder has been included in head coach Ran Ben Shimon's squad for Israel's upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Kosovo and Austria.

Israel will travel to face Kosovo on November 14 before welcoming Austria three days later. The national team currently occupy the bottom position in Group B3 with two points and will be looking to improve their standing in the remaining matches.

Goren's selection represents an important milestone in his young career and reflects the progress he has made at Barcelona under Hansi Flick. The teenager has increasingly trained with the senior squad and has already been included in the matchday groups for the Clasico against Real Madrid and the Champions League meeting with Aston Villa.

Although he is yet to make his first-team debut for the Catalan club, his performances and development have attracted attention beyond Spain.

The midfielder has already gained considerable international experience through appearances for Israel's U17, U18, U19 and U21 teams. Since making his U17 debut on September 10, 2024, he has featured 17 times across the different age groups.

His promotion to the senior national team is another major step after two years of steady progress. At club level, Goren has joined Barça Atlètic for the 2026/27 campaign after spending part of pre season training with Flick's first team squad.

Barcelona have high hopes for the youngster, who is admired for his technical quality, creativity and intelligence when in possession. He is also regarded as having a strong personality and the ability to build positive relationships with teammates.

However, securing regular opportunities in Barcelona's senior side remains a significant challenge. The club already have several established midfielders competing for places, meaning Goren may need to continue gaining experience with Barça Atlètic.

His first international call up could nevertheless provide valuable experience and further opportunities to demonstrate his potential as he works towards becoming a regular member of Barcelona's first team.
