Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey continued his fine form in Bulgaria by coming off the bench to score in Ludogorets Razgrad's convincing 3-0 victory over Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the Bulgarian First Professional League on Saturday.
The 29-year-old made an instant impact after replacing Brazilian winger Caio Vidal in the 74th minute, needing just 13 minutes to get on the scoresheet and cap another dominant performance by the defending champions.
Ludogorets took control of the contest early, with Erick Marcus opening the scoring in the 21st minute before Serbian midfielder Petar Stanić doubled the visitors' advantage shortly after the break.
Lokomotiv Plovdiv's hopes of mounting a comeback suffered a major setback in the 56th minute when Romanian defender Andrei Chindriş was shown a straight red card, leaving the hosts to play the remainder of the match with 10 men.
Tekpetey then put the result beyond doubt in the 87th minute, calmly finishing to seal an emphatic 3-0 triumph and round off an impressive attacking display from the Bulgarian champions.
The former Schalke 04 and Paderborn attacker has continued to play an important role for Ludogorets this season, with his pace, movement and eye for goal providing valuable depth in the club's attacking department.
Ludogorets dominated the encounter from start to finish, enjoying 67 percent possession while registering 14 shots compared to Lokomotiv's eight, underlining their superiority throughout the match.
The victory keeps Ludogorets firmly in the hunt for another Bulgarian league title as they continue to set the pace at the top of the standings.
For Tekpetey, the goal is another timely reminder of his quality as he continues to impress in Bulgarian football, strengthening his case for a return to the Black Stars setup ahead of future international assignments.
