Barcelona recorded an emphatic 6-1 victory over Deportivo Alavés at the Spotify Camp Nou, with Lamine Yamal producing an outstanding performance to emerge as the leading figure in the contest, according to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

The Spanish winger contributed two goals and an assist as Hansi Flick’s team dominated proceedings for extended periods, combining attacking creativity with effective finishing to secure a comfortable win.

Yamal immediately demonstrated his influence through his dribbling, movement and ability to create openings in the opposition’s defence. His involvement was particularly important in Barcelona’s second goal in the 23rd minute, when he delivered an excellent pass into the penalty area.

Fermín López received the ball and finished confidently into the top-left corner, extending Barcelona’s advantage. The quality of Yamal’s delivery once again highlighted his ability to create scoring opportunities for teammates from difficult positions.

The teenager continued to trouble Alavés with his movement and close control. In the 35th minute, he attempted a low effort that required an impressive save from goalkeeper Antonio Sivera. He also created an opportunity for Raphinha, whose powerful attempt narrowly cleared the crossbar.

Yamal eventually got on the scoresheet before the interval. After receiving a pass from Joao Cancelo in the 45th minute, he produced an excellent long-range finish into the bottom-right corner. The goal further strengthened Barcelona’s control and helped the hosts establish a commanding 4-0 lead before halftime.

The 19-year-old maintained his attacking intensity after the restart, continuing to exploit spaces and challenge the Alavés defenders. He came close to adding another goal in the 49th minute after an impressive individual run, but the opportunity did not result in a finish.

His persistence eventually produced another reward in the 64th minute when he found the net from inside the penalty area. The goal was subsequently checked by the Video Assistant Referee and officially confirmed two minutes later.

Yamal’s involvement continued beyond his goalscoring contribution. He also helped create two additional scoring opportunities before being substituted in the 74th minute, having played a major role in Barcelona’s attacking performance.

Alavés managed to score a consolation goal through Mariano Díaz, but their effort did little to change the outcome of an encounter that had already been dominated by the home side. Anthony Gordon also found the net for Barcelona, completing the six-goal performance.

Yamal’s combination of finishing, creativity and direct attacking play made him particularly influential throughout the match. His two goals and assist, alongside the opportunities he created for others, underlined his importance to Flick’s attacking system.

The convincing result provided Barcelona with another memorable performance, while Yamal’s display further demonstrated his ability to influence matches at the highest level.
