Arsenal have made a strong start to the new season but will be aware that there is still room for improvement in the transfer window. Mikel Arteta is aiming to build on last season’s success by retaining the Premier League title and lifting the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
The Gunners bolstered their ranks through the arrivals of Ezri Konsa, Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis in the summer. However, Arsenal’s unsuccessful pursuits of Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior and Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez show that Arteta was willing to strengthen his attacking options.
Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi has reportedly emerged as a target for Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window. The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 12 games for the Belgian side so far this term, including a Champions League hat-trick against Inter Milan.
Elsewhere, the Gunners’ recent success has been built on their resolute backline, but goalkeeper David Raya has suggested he could exit Arsenal in the future. Here, Mirror Football looks at some of the biggest stories surrounding Arteta’s side.

Spain international Raya has hinted that he may choose to leave Arsenal in the future, as he wishes to play in La Liga. The 31-year-old shot-stopper, who is under contract until 2028, has been integral to the team since initially arriving on loan from Brentford in 2023.
Raya has since established himself as one of the world’s best goalkeepers, winning three consecutive Premier League golden gloves, as well as helping the Gunners finally clinch the title last season. The former Blackburn Rovers star was also part of Spain’s World Cup-winning squad this summer and has admitted he would relish the opportunity to test himself in his home country, having spent his professional career in English football.
When asked if he would like to play in Spain, Raya told Marca: “Yes, I would love to, I would love to try La Liga. For now, I'm very happy here, but I would like to try the Spanish league.
“I think it's a very competitive league. Maybe, in the future, I could play for a Spanish club. I'm Spanish and I would love to play there, that's for sure.”

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Club Brugge star Tresoldi. The Germany U21 international has been a standout for the Belgian side, who sold Christos Tzolis to the Gunners in the summer.
Arteta has relied on Kai Havertz to start up front in every league game so far, with Viktor Gyokeres struggling to impress when called upon. The Sun reports that the situation has led Arsenal to become interested in Tresoldi, with the club exploring a possible move in January.
Tresoldi’s value is claimed to have risen to around £42million following Brugge previously rejecting a £30m offer from Roma. However, Arsenal would face competition from AC Milan for the 22-year-old, who is a boyhood fan of the Italian giants.
