French-born forward of Ghanaian descent Godson Kyeremeh recorded his first assist of the 2026/27 Ligue 2 season, but it was not enough to prevent Red Star FC from suffering a heavy 4-1 home defeat to Nancy.
The 25-year-old was one of Red Star’s brightest performers at Stade Bauer, producing a lively display before making way in the second half.
Nancy took the lead in the 21st minute when Ilyes Housni finished off a swift move after being set up by goalkeeper Enzo Basilio.
Red Star responded positively and found an equaliser nine minutes later through Théo Magnin, who calmly converted after being picked out by an intelligent pass from Kyeremeh.
The visitors, however, regained control of the contest just before halftime. Nehemiah Fernandez restored Nancy’s advantage in stoppage time of the first half after being teed up by Jérémy Gélin, giving the away side a 2-1 lead at the interval.
Nancy continued to dominate after the restart, with Gélin adding a third goal in the 61st minute before El Hadary Raheriniaina wrapped up an emphatic victory with a late strike in the 86th minute, assisted by Housni.
Kyeremeh was substituted in the 64th minute after another encouraging individual performance, although he was unable to inspire a comeback for his side.
The assist was the attacker’s first in seven Ligue 2 appearances this season, taking his tally to one goal contribution as he continues to establish himself in Red Star’s attacking setup.
Despite the disappointing result, Kyeremeh’s display offered another positive sign for the French-Ghanaian forward as he looks to build momentum in the remainder of the campaign.
