FC AshantiGold 04 produced an impressive comeback to stun Swedru All Blacks 2-1 at the Swedru Sports Stadium in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 9 encounter on Sunday afternoon.

The Elephants recovered from an early setback to claim all three points, ending their difficult run of away results and handing the hosts a disappointing defeat in front of their home supporters.

All Blacks made a dream start to the contest, taking the lead just seven minutes into the game through Faisal Charwetey, who found the back of the net to put the Black Magicians in front.

However, their advantage lasted only seven minutes as AshantiGold responded positively to restore parity in the 14th minute. Zak Musah was on target for the visitors, drawing the Obuasi-based side level and bringing the contest back to life.

Both teams continued their efforts in search of a decisive goal, but it was AshantiGold who eventually found the breakthrough in the closing stages.

Frederick Twumasi emerged as the match-winner, scoring in the 77th minute to complete the turnaround and put the Elephants ahead for the first time in the encounter.

The hosts were unable to find a response in the remaining minutes as AshantiGold held on to secure a valuable 2-1 away victory.

The result represents a significant boost for the Elephants, who had struggled on their travels after drawing their opening away fixture against Port City before suffering three consecutive defeats.

The defeat brings an end to All Blacks' impressive run of three successive league victories and their 10-match unbeaten home record.
