The centre-back, 33, has called time on his playing career just a year on from being linked with a move to Ibrox.
Rangers had held an interest in the Wolves hero in the summer of 2025, with Russell Martin interested in the defender as Robin Propper headed for the Ibrox exit.
Eventually, Coady would end up joining Hollywood-backed Wrexham instead of a switch to Glasgow.
Now, though, he has hung up his boots.
Sharing a video on social media confirming his retirement, Coady posted: "Lived the dream.
"Eternally Grateful, Thank you."
Commenting on the post, former Rangers boss Michael Beale wrote: "Congratulations Conor - what a career and journey 👏❤️"
Ex-Wolves team-mate Raul Jiminez said: "My Captain 🫡
"Wishing you all the best in this new chapter, was incredible sharing pitch with you! 🔝🔝🐺🔥"
Harry Maguire replied: "Top career mate, pleasure to be a small part of it ❤️"
Jack Grealish commented: "Nearly got me going 😢 unbelievable career and what a human!!
"Enjoy retirement brother 💙💙🫵🏻🫶🏻"
