7 Years To Win A Trophy: Amakhosi Fans Outraged by Da Cruz’s Shock Arsenal Comparison

Fernando Da Cruz Breaks Silence on Growing Pressure at Kaizer Chiefs as Tensions Rise Behind the Scenes

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has acknowledged the immense pressure that comes with managing the Soweto giants as disappointing results and reported disagreements over team selections continue to place his position under scrutiny.

The French tactician is facing increasing criticism during the 2026/27 campaign, with supporters growing frustrated by the team’s inability to turn promising performances into consistent victories. Although Amakhosi remain competitive in the Betway Premiership, their recent struggles have raised questions about their progress under Da Cruz.

According to reports published by iDiski Times, disagreements have emerged within the club’s hierarchy and technical team over certain selection decisions. However, the reported tensions have not been officially confirmed by the club.

Da Cruz insists he understood the expectations attached to the Kaizer Chiefs job before accepting the challenge, acknowledging that pressure is an unavoidable part of managing one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs.

“From the day I joined Kaizer Chiefs, I knew that the pressure would be very high,” he explained.

The coach also admitted that the team had yet to deliver the results expected by both the technical staff and supporters. He stressed that improving performances remains a daily priority as the club continues its rebuilding process.

“I put pressure on myself every day; we try step by step to improve the level. We don’t get the results from the moment we expect them, and that the fans expect,” Da Cruz added.

He defended the rebuilding project by pointing to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, arguing that achieving sustained success requires time, even for ambitious clubs.

Nevertheless, patience among Chiefs supporters is wearing thin following recent disappointments, including their 1-0 defeat to Red Arrows in Zambia in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The upcoming return leg at Moses Mabhida Stadium presents Da Cruz and his players with an important opportunity to respond.

Ultimately, improved performances and positive results will be crucial if the Frenchman hopes to restore confidence and convince supporters that Kaizer Chiefs are moving in the right direction.
