Ronaldo’s UD Almería Steps In to Support Wife and Daughter of Footballer Who Died at 30

Cristiano Ronaldo’s investment club, UD Almería, has announced a touching act of kindness following the tragic death of Spanish footballer Jesús de Miguel, who died at the age of 30 after suffering a serious collision during a football match.

The Spanish club confirmed that all money raised from ticket sales for its upcoming home fixture against CD Tenerife will be donated to support the late striker’s wife and young daughter.

De Miguel died on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, after being involved in a frightening on-field collision during a match between Tenerife and FC Andorra on Tuesday, 3 November. He reportedly collided with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono and was immediately given medical attention before being rushed to hospital. Sadly, he could not survive the incident.

According to UD Almería, the initiative was introduced by club president Mohammed Al Khereiji as a demonstration of solidarity and humanitarian responsibility.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo owns a 25 per cent stake in the club through CR7 Sports Investments, Almería specifically credited Al Khereiji for spearheading the donation.

The club acknowledged that no amount of money could replace a husband and father, but expressed hope that the gesture would provide some financial assistance to the grieving family.

Almería has also invited De Miguel’s family to attend the upcoming match if they feel comfortable doing so.

Meanwhile, UD Las Palmas has announced that its players will wear a special third kit during their next match against CD Eldense in honour of the deceased footballer.

The gestures have highlighted the compassionate side of football, showing that solidarity and humanity can go beyond club rivalries and competition.
