Bernard Parker Responds After Tim Sukazi Axes Him Following Two Defeats

Bernard Parker has broken his silence following his departure from TS Galaxy, addressing the intense scrutiny that followed a difficult run of results. His exit came on the heels of consecutive 1-0 defeats, which included a setback against Chippa United and a painful loss to Kruger United in the Mpumalanga Derby. The situation drew widespread attention across South African football, especially after club chairman Tim Sukazi publicly described the Kruger United performance as the worst match in the team's history.

Appearing on Robert Marawa's radio show, Parker defended his tactical approach and explained how the dynamic of the match shifted dramatically. He pointed directly to a crucial turning point early in the second half when defender Veluyeke Zulu received a red card in the fiftieth minute. Playing with a man down for more than forty minutes forced a complete tactical shift, making it difficult for the team to execute its original game plan.Parker noted that despite the numerical disadvantage, the team still created scoring opportunities that they failed to convert, ultimately conceding a decisive goal in the seventy-third minute.

The heavy defeat clearly strained relations behind the scenes. Alongside labeling the performance unacceptable, Sukazi reportedly advised Parker to pursue further formal coaching qualifications during an interview on Ikwekwezi FM. This public exchange highlighted the immense pressure and high expectations placed on technical teams in professional football, sparking broader debates about whether a manager should shoulder full responsibility when a game is severely altered by disciplinary issues on the pitch.

With Parker now looking ahead to the next chapter of his career, TS Galaxy has shifted its focus toward stabilization and restructuring. Reports suggest the club is actively pursuing a European manager holding a UEFA Pro Licence to steer the team forward. As the club works to finalize documentation for a new appointment, the episode serves as a reminder of the fine margins and unforgiving nature of top-flight football management.
