Kaizer Chiefs Completes Signing of TWO New Strikers – Details

Kaizer Chiefs are taking decisive action to address their attacking deficiencies, with the club in advanced negotiations to sign two new strikers ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The move comes as the Soweto giants look to fill the void left by Ranga Chivaviro's departure and end their persistent struggles in front of goal.

The club has already secured the services of Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro, who joins with prior PSL experience from stints at Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu. The 26-year-old speedster has been included in Chiefs' pre-season tour squad to the Netherlands, where he'll have the opportunity to integrate with his new teammates. Known for his direct running and ability to stretch defenses, Ighodaro could provide the dynamic edge Chiefs have lacked in recent seasons.

Chiefs are also closing in on Guinea-Portuguese striker Flavio Silva, currently plying his trade with Indonesian side Persebaya Surabaya. The 29-year-old target man has impressed in Liga 1 with nine goals this season, showcasing the physical presence and clinical finishing that could make him an ideal focal point for Nasreddine Nabi's attack. Silva's background in Sporting Lisbon and Benfica's youth systems suggests a strong technical foundation that could translate well to South African football.

These potential signings represent a clear statement of intent from Amakhosi, who have struggled with inconsistent striking options in recent years. The combination of Ighodaro's pace and Silva's physicality could give Nabi the tactical flexibility he needs to implement his preferred attacking approach.

With the new season approaching, Chiefs fans will be encouraged by the club's proactive approach in the transfer market. If both deals are finalized, the Soweto giants may finally have the firepower needed to mount a serious challenge for silverware and restore their status among South Africa's elite clubs. The coming weeks will reveal how quickly these new attacking pieces can gel with the existing squad as Chiefs look to turn their ambitions into on-field success.
