Former Orlando Pirates Coach Set to Earn R350,000 Monthly at New Club

Golden Arrows have reportedly appointed former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi as their new head coach following the departure of Pitso Dladla. The experienced tactician is expected to return to the Durban-based club as they look to improve their performances after a disappointing run of results.

Ncikazi previously worked at Golden Arrows during the 2020/21 Premier Soccer League season, helping the team secure an impressive fourth-place finish. His return is expected to bring valuable experience and familiarity with the club as the management seeks to restore consistency and strengthen the team's position in the league.

Orlando Pirates had earlier confirmed Ncikazi's departure from his position as assistant coach to Abdeslam Ouaddou. The announcement indicated that he was leaving the Buccaneers to pursue a head coaching opportunity, paving the way for his reported return to Golden Arrows.

According to reports, Ncikazi has agreed to a two-year contract with the Durban-based club and is set to earn a monthly salary of R350,000. If confirmed, the reported package would represent a significant commitment from Golden Arrows as they look to improve their performances under his leadership. However, the club has not officially confirmed the contract duration or salary details.

Ncikazi is expected to replace Dladla, who took charge after Manqoba Mngqithi left Golden Arrows to join Tanzanian club Young Africans SC.

Dladla initially enjoyed a promising start, with Golden Arrows going unbeaten in their first six matches. The team also recorded notable victories against Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8, raising expectations among supporters.

However, their performances later declined, with the team reportedly going five consecutive matches without a victory. The disappointing results increased pressure on the technical team and eventually led to the decision to make a coaching change.

Ncikazi's return could provide Golden Arrows with an opportunity to rediscover the form they displayed during his previous spell. His experience in South African football and knowledge of the club's environment may prove valuable as he begins his new assignment.

His immediate priority will be to rebuild the players' confidence, improve their consistency and help the team return to winning ways. He will also need to assess the squad and establish a tactical approach capable of delivering better results.

The reported two-year agreement would give Ncikazi time to work towards the club's objectives, although the pressure to produce immediate improvements is likely to be significant.

Golden Arrows supporters will be hoping that his return brings stability to the team and helps the club recover from its recent struggles. While the reported R350,000 monthly salary has attracted attention, Ncikazi's success will ultimately be measured by the results he delivers on the pitch.
