Midfielder Gabriel Amato of Cape Town City has made a significant career move by signing with Roc Nation Sports International, a global agency that represents numerous famous footballers.
The announcement adds another notable South African talent to the agency's roster. Along with Amato, the organization now counts Neo Bohloko, Emile Witbooi, Siya Mabena, and Cayden Fortune, a player for Cape Town City, among its younger members.
With each game he plays in for the Citizens, the 20-year-old keeps drawing admirers. Before Cape Town City's 2024–25 season ended in relegation, he was promoted to the club's senior squad and played in 31 games across all competitions.
Amato has continued to improve even though the club has been relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. His two goals and four assists in the 2026–27 season demonstrated his increasing impact in the middle of the field, and his overall performances were promising. 1 for FARPost
Many clubs from outside of South Africa have taken an interest in his talent and have signed him as a result. Amato has been linked to other international teams and had a chance to train with PEC Zwolle in December 2025. Nonetheless, there has been no official confirmation of a transfer abroad.
Notable footballers represented by Roc Nation Sports International include Vinícius Júnior and Endrick, who are both from Real Madrid. It has also been able to find and sign talented young African footballers as a result of its expanding role in the continent's football leagues.
Amato could benefit greatly from the agency's career management services, advice, and opportunities to pursue his dream of playing abroad if he were to sign with them.
The midfielder has recently signed with new representatives and will now seek to continue his success with Cape Town City.
