Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane has reportedly named a 38-player preliminary squad ahead of South Africa's November 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Kenya. The announcement has attracted attention from football supporters who are eager to see which players could represent the country in the upcoming matches.

The preliminary squad gives the technical team an opportunity to consider several players before making a final selection. With many footballers competing for places in the national team, the coming weeks could be important for those hoping to secure a spot in the final squad.

South Africa's matches against Kenya are expected to be important as Bafana Bafana continue their preparations for the AFCON qualifying campaign. Supporters will be watching closely to see how the team performs and whether the selected players can deliver the results needed.

Naming 38 players at the preliminary stage allows the coach to assess different options in various positions. This can help the technical team consider players' current form, fitness levels and performances for their respective clubs before deciding who will make the final list.

For local football fans, the squad announcement also creates an opportunity to discuss which players deserve a place in the team. Some supporters may want to see familiar faces retained, while others could be hoping for new players to receive an opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage.

However, the preliminary squad should not be confused with the final team that will travel or take part in the matches. Changes can still be made before the final selection is confirmed.

As the November fixtures approach, attention will turn to the players who eventually make the cut and how quickly they can work together as a team.

Bafana Bafana will need careful preparation, good teamwork and strong performances if they are to achieve their objectives against Kenya.

The squad announcement and fixture details should be verified against an official source before publication, as the information provided does not include the names of the selected players or confirmation of the qualifying schedule.
