Sibisi Sends Message to Chiefs Ahead of Soweto Derby: We Know They Have Not Lost, BUT

Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi has shared his assessment of Kaizer Chiefs ahead of Saturday’s highly anticipated Soweto Derby, acknowledging Amakhosi’s recent unbeaten run while making it clear that his side will approach the encounter with confidence.

The two Soweto giants are preparing to renew their fierce rivalry at FNB Stadium, with both teams targeting valuable Betway Premiership points and the bragging rights that come with winning one of South African football’s biggest fixtures.

Chiefs head into the derby having avoided defeat in their recent matches, a run that has attracted attention and boosted confidence around the Naturena camp. However, Sibisi believes that the derby presents an entirely different challenge.

The Pirates skipper understands that Chiefs will arrive with confidence, but his team's preparations will be centred on their own strengths, ambitions and approach to the contest.

For Orlando Pirates, the encounter offers an opportunity to make a statement against their traditional rivals and demonstrate their determination to compete for the league's biggest honours.

Sibisi's comments also highlight the respect Pirates have for their opponents, although there is little doubt that the Buccaneers will be eager to spoil Chiefs' positive run.

With both teams carrying enormous expectations into the fixture, the atmosphere at FNB Stadium is expected to be electric.

Chiefs may have avoided defeat in their recent outings, but Sibisi and his Pirates teammates will be determined to ensure that the Soweto Derby tells a different story.
