THE PRESIDENT IS BACK! RELEBOHILE MOFOKENG EARNS FIFTH STRAIGHT START AS SOUTH AFRICAN STAR CONTINUES IMPRESSING IN BELGIUM

BELGIUM — 31 OCTOBER 2026

South African football sensation Relebohile Mofokeng continues to attract attention in European football after being named in Royale Union Saint-Gilloise's starting line-up for their latest Belgian Pro League encounter against SK Beveren on Saturday.

The 22-year-old attacking sensation has earned his fifth consecutive league start, another indication of the growing trust he is receiving at the Belgian club since making his move to Europe.

Mofokeng, popularly known among South African football supporters as 'The President', has enjoyed an encouraging start to life in Belgium, producing impressive numbers despite competing in a new football environment.

The former Orlando Pirates star has already registered four goals and two assists in eight Jupiler Pro League appearances this season. His contribution in the final third has made him one of the players attracting considerable attention from South African supporters following his move abroad.

His recent performances have also provided plenty of reasons for excitement.

During Union Saint-Gilloise's impressive 5-2 victory over Cercle Brugge on 25 October, Mofokeng delivered an outstanding individual performance, scoring one goal and providing an assist.

That display further demonstrated his attacking quality, creativity and ability to influence important moments in matches.

His continued presence in the starting line-up against SK Beveren suggests that the technical team is increasingly comfortable with what he brings to the team's attacking structure.

For South African football followers, however, the biggest talking point remains whether Mofokeng can produce another memorable performance and add to his growing collection of goal contributions.

The youngster possesses the technical ability, confidence and attacking intelligence to trouble opposition defenders, particularly when given opportunities to operate in dangerous areas.

His progress in Belgium will also be closely followed by Bafana Bafana supporters, who will be hoping that his European experience continues to strengthen his development at international level.

Mofokeng previously established himself as one of the exciting attacking talents in South African football during his time at Orlando Pirates. His performances in Belgium are now giving supporters another reason to believe that he can achieve even greater things abroad.

With four goals and two assists already recorded in the league, attention will be on whether 'The President' can deliver another special contribution against SK Beveren.

Will Relebohile Mofokeng find the back of the net again, or will he provide another assist for Union Saint-Gilloise?
